In Practice Tracking the
Affordable Care Act
from the NY Times
The stumbling rollout of the
federally run online health exchange has frustrated tens of thousands of
Americans and sent some looking for alternative sources of information on
where they can buy health insurance, and what it will cost them, under the
Affordable Care Act.
It took three programmers in their
twenties a few days last month to offer up an answer. They repackaged data
from HealthCare.gov into
a minimalist website, HealthSherpa,
that tells consumers what plans are available in their area, based on their
ZIP code, plan preference and some basic personal information. ...
Please note the
www.healthsherpa.com site will give you plans and prices (also you may
qualify for a lower price than listed) but you MUST sign up at the
www.healthcare.gov site for the
insurance; navigators may be helpful & or necessary for you. You can
find them at

We have a unique and important voice in this fight, and I hope you'll make
sure yours is heard today.
All the best,
Dear Kristin -
One year ago, I was proud to walk onto the House
floor for the State of the Union Address.
The next day, after casting my last vote, I resigned
my seat in Congress.
Mark and I will be there again tomorrow night,
because this is a critical moment in time for
legislation to reduce gun violence in the United
That's also why we're releasing our first television
ad on the issue. As one of the first donors to
Americans for Responsible Solutions, I wanted you to
see it first.
Watch the ad and forward it to your friends:
Nine out of ten Americans support universal
background checks for gun purchases.
Congress must act. Let's get this done.
